Enjoy watching canoes, kayaks, rowing skiffs, wakeboarders and waterskiers enjoy this beautiful river valley, recognized as one of the finest and best-kept in the world. Our souvenir maps and booklet will inform you about the river, its landmarks, cultural highlights, and fascinating history.

ABOUT THE BOATS

The Saskatoon Princess

The 35-passenger Saskatoon Princess is a 3-season tour boat with lounge-style seating, catered meals, heated cabin, washroom, and bar service. She was built in Tilbury, Ontario in 1953 for use on the Rideau Canal in downtown Ottawa, where she was named the Queen of Ottawa and cruised past the Parliament Buildings of Canada for some 30 years.

Before being moved to Saskatoon in the fall of 2002, the little ship served as the Fort Chambly II, serving on the Richelieu River east of Montreal and on the Ottawa River east of Ottawa, then re-named The Villager and sailed out of Upper Canada Village on the St. Lawrence River near Cornwall, Ontario.

She was purchased in 2002 by Shearwater Properties, and spent the winter of 2002 undergoing extensive re-plating and upgrading. Made entirely of steel, she is 40 feet long, 14 feet wide, and draws 3 feet of water. Powered by a 200 hp Volvo diesel engine, she has a dry weight of just over 15 tons, and a registered tonnage of 19.8 tons.

The Meewasin Queen

The 35-passenger Meewasin Queen is a 3-season tour boat with lounge-style seating, catered meals, heated cabin, toilet, bar service, and features an attractive upper deck which - on nice days - affords a great vantage point from which to see the river. She was built in Selkirk, Manitoba in 1969 for use on the Red River and Netley Marsh. She was originally named the Lady Chesley and worked out of Chesley Resorts near Clandeboye as well as on the rivers in downtown Winnipeg.

She was purchased in the autumn of 2007 by Shearwater Properties Ltd, and spent the winter of that year undergoing an overall re-fit. Made entirely of steel, she is 44 feet long, 12 feet wide, and draws 2.5 feet of water. She is powered by twin 100 hp Volvo diesel engines, she has a dry weight of just under 15 tons, and a registered tonnage of 22 tons.
